If you're pure Burmese or have Burmese blood in ur blood, this is fun to read.
Youll really enjoy reading this because youll find some, or most of them apply to you!
1. Everything you eat is savored in garlic, onion and chilies.
2. You try and re-use gift wrappers, gift boxes, and of course aluminum foil.
3. You try to eject food particles from between your teeth by pressing your tongue against them and making a peculiar noise like, tshick, tshick!
4. You are standing next to the two largest size suitcases at the Airport.
5. You arrive one or two hours late to a party, and think its normal.
6. You peel the stamps off letters that the Postal Service missed to stamp.
7. Your toilet has a plastic bowl next to the commode.
8. You name your children in rhythms (example, Myat Noe & Myat Moe, Mar Lar & Thar Yar )
9. All your children have pet names, which sound no where close to their real names.
10. You take Burmese snacks anywhere it says No Food Allowed.
11. You talk for an hour at the front door when leaving someones house.
12. You load up the family car with as many people as possible.
13. You use plastic to cover anything new in your house whether its the remote control, VCR, carpet or new couch.
14. Your parents tell you to not care about what your friends think, but they wont let you do certain things because of what the other Uncles And Aunties will think.
15. Owning a rice cooker is a top priority.
16. You live with your parents even if you are 40 years old and married with children. And they like it that way).
17. If she is NOT your daughter, you always take interest in knowing whose daughter has run away with whose son and feel its your duty to spread the word.
18. You dont make long distance calls even in an emergency.
19. If you dont live at home, when your parents call, they ask if youve eaten, even if its midnight.
20. When your parents meet other Burmese for the first time and talk for a few minutes, you soon discover they are your relatives.
21. Your parents dont realize phone connections to foreign countries have improved in the last two decades, and still scream at the top of their lungs while talking.
22. You have bed sheets on your sofas so as to keep them from getting dirty but the sheet on your bed has not been washed for months!
23. Its embarrassing if your wedding has less than 600 people.
24. You list your daughter as fair and slim in the matrimonial no matter what she looks like.
25. Youre always interested to know/interfere in other peoples personal matters, what they are doing, where they are going, etc.
26. You have really enjoyed reading this because you know some, or most of them apply to you! |

Looong time since I updated this.....
This semester is extremely easy, as I expected. After going through the hell of last semester this break is just what I needed. Bunch of useless classes combined with an easy engineering one. I'll definitely finish off strong, hopefully!
I bought a new pair of shoes, they're so great:
Also, I'm starting to get back into DDR after a long absense from it. Being bored makes you realize these things again. Went to DDR and Smash after what seems like forever and got a few games in. As of now, I only have 22 songs to AAA (perfect score). Went to the arcade a few days ago and got this:
This probably means nothing to nobody, but holy crap, that sucked. This is like winning 3 games in the world series, and then all you need is one more, but then a random team comes out of nowhere and crams something up your ass. No reference to any sports. Errr... what a pointless post. Bye. |

So, if you don't know, I'm trying to get into NYU for graduate school after I finish with UB. My registration for Electronics Engineering Course at NYU was done. Yea, I took MC and didnt go to work for that. I walked up to the Central library from Engineering Faculty for photocopying. That was one hell of a walk. If you're from the city, you know how far that really is.
I'm lazy. Was supposed to wake up by 9 or something and meet my friends at 11 for applications and such. But then, I woke up at 10:50 when my friend msg-ed me and asking of where I am. Hahah.. Well, I didnt go up there yet to NYU but to the Post Office to collect my stuff. Khaing sent me a denim jacket as my birthday present. Goodness, she shouldnt have spent that much! Thanks thou. Then I took a cab to NYU, meet my friends and do my photocopying, submission, and what not. Follow by the whole afternoon- I was married to Polychnic. Goddamn long queue. 9Bucks thou. I usually have to spend like 27Bucks for my MC. So It afterall wasnt that bad. I really do hope I could get in to NYU. Wish me luck! |

I bought a shirt. I really love it. So looking good in me. hahaha, whatever I say so- right? It's plainly black with white and red lines. V-Necked and quite fit. So nice, I have been seeing it for some time already. So yer know why not I buy it away.
Classes going fine. Project of hell due soon, very busy due to it. |

Wow, my sleep pattern is maddd sporatic these days. At least Joe sleeps late too or else we'd probably get pissed at each other. Last night I went to bed at 4AM...the past 4-5 hours, I was aimlessly talking on AIM and going to websites... websites which I seem to be cycling through every 5 minutes, without meaning, without purpose.
A small moment of enlightenment for me... for some of you, probably just a way for to think I'm even wierder and wierder... Well, here goes... My thoughts at this moment. Technology was originally created by mankind so that we could complete tasks and live through our lives more efficiently. Besides making life more efficient, it was also designed to make our lives more convenient. But does it really do that? Nowadays, things are getting done at rates that are exponentially astronomical, yet the convenience of technology has also left many of us in state of laziness, which many of us seem to be unable to awaken from. Remote controls keep us adhered to the couch, computers keep us sitting for hours, video games keep us up all night doing nothing but staring at a screen... So many things built for our convenience - cell phones, pagers, PDA's, fax machines, GPS alerting systems... - they were made to make our lives more convenient. But in my opinion, it does the complete opposite. Nowadays, there are no excuses, even when valid. Everyone wants everything instantly, everyone becomes more impatient. If you're busy and couldn't call, it doesn't matter. "Why didn't you call me?? You have a cell phone!!" With all this technology, all people want is to have things faster. Or, better yet, they want things to happen for them, without requiring any work from those individuals. So what will be the outcome? HUMANS WILL BUILD THOUSANDS OF ROBOTS, ALL OF WHICH WILL EVENTUALLY CALCULATE THE FINALITY THAT ALL HUMANS ARE FLAWED AND THAT WE MUST ALL BE ELIMINATED FOR THE GOOD OF THE WORLD!! OH NOES!!!! Of course, that's the thinking of a machine, which is a creation of man, who is a creation of God. God is perfect. Man if far from perfect. What makes you think that robots can be any better? Artificial intelligence... nothing more than a series of equations and balances, several instances of processing two simple numbers: 1 and 0. This can become quite a dangerous thing... such complicated processes condensed into 2 numbers. I mean seriously, isn't that a scary thought??
Oooookaaay... so originally, I was trying to say that computers kill your productivity, but I guess I went a little too far there. BUT WAIT!! THIS HELPS PROVE MY POINT!! I JUST WASTED ANOTHER 10-15 MINUTES TYPING ALL THIS JUNK JUST BECAUSE OF MY COMPUTER!! WOW!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm suprised myself that such a tech geek like me would write so much about technology today. OMG HELP ME I NEED TO GO TO SLEEP SO I CAN GET UP FOR CLASS. HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!
ps: i think this is officially the wierdest post i've made yet. |

Jamie played me a song this evening. I was quite feeling down actually, so I asked for it. Am I still? I dunno. Hmmm- I just wanna be happy. Who doesn't, huh? Well, I miss Chrissy. I miss her when I'm happy. I miss her when I'm sad. Oh well. I also wanna go back and see her although I don't really have the time. Well, I guess I have to just wait until Thanksgiving.
My birthday's coming soon. Im oldDDDDdddDD!!! helpPPPppPPPP!!!
I watched "The Exorcist" the other day. It was somewhat scary, but I didn't really like it. I wanna watch some Comedies. |

Unit Operations 2 is making Unit Operations 1 look like a piece of cake, and UO1 was not an easy class at all.
Well, I suppose I expected it. No one ever said being an engineering major was easy.
Been spending a lot of time with friends lately, I guess everyone's realizing that since it's our last year we need to do as much as we can together, until the midpoint of the year when classes become very time consuming. It feels nice, not worrying about things constantly.
I need to think of some other things to do as well...maybe I'll go to a Smash or DDR meeting or something, been awhile since I was there, haven't played DDR in awhile. |

Haha, did you guys really think that DeLorean was actually mine? Hell no, you all should know I'm the poorest mofo and I can't afford any shit like that. Well, that was fun, it was my Rick's idea anyway, hahaha, it worked great.
Anyway, what happened was I was helping my friend move during labor day weekend, we went to some burger place called Red Robin. We were leaving and my friend looks behind him, then yells "Woah, turn around!!". So I do, and all I see is... "D... M... C!!!!" By this point, I'm running around screaming, looking at the car at all angles possible. The driver comes out and he's really cool and lets me take pics with me sitting in it and stuff. The car looks and feels even smoother and blingier in real life than in pictures. The pictures make it look like shit. And even then, it's the sexiest creation known to man. Well, that was cool, and wow, one day, I will definitely have my own DeLorean, brand new 0 miles 6 cylinder manual turbo with xenon projection, alpine headunit and lcd unit with amplifier and GPRS. And other custom stuff.
Only fifty... thousand dollars away...
Oh yea, classes suck. |

Moved in yesterday, I guess it went pretty well. No problems came up, unpacking everything was a pain in the ass as always but it didn't seem as bad this time. Damn apartment was dirty though and some things didn't work right, we must have had to put like 5 different work orders, hopefully they'll get fixed soon.
So, this begins my final year in Buffalo. I have a hellish schedule, only because I loaded up on my required courses. This way I'll have a very relaxed final semester, it'll be worth it.
First weekend is always the best anyway, since there isn't any work to worry about. I'll definitely make the most out of it. |

Yeah, so yesterday I was supposed to be camping with a bunch of close friends and some other people from high school. Anyway, it was supposed to be a final getaway before we all head off to college again, but my mom's car broke down again and I had to take an early trip home and give her rides and let her borrow my car. So that sucked, glad I could help though. I just remembered that I forgot to take out my head unit. My car's system is probably gonna get blown from her bad music... and if it really does, someone must DIE!!! Not really, but I'll be really mad. |

My last weekend here...in a few days I go back to Buffalo for my final year of college...
I still remember the days when I was just a Freshman in Spalding, seems like such a long time ago, but I guess it was. I feel that I need to say something deep...but am not sure exactly what. Maybe I'll just put down some memories... |

Happy Birthday, Mom.
Saw The Notebook. It's a nice love story. It's all about romance with personality. In relationships, There are fights but not break ups. Seems like most people can't figure that out. I like this movie, it's how I believe in love.
I was thinking if I should write this. I think I am going to because it's all in my thoughts and need to write it down for the sake of it. I just found out that someone cheated on my friend. Why start a relationship if you dont really like the person? For fun? Why continue a relationship for sometime if you dont really love them? I'm not sure whether or not my friend knows yet, but I feel that I might have to tell him. It means no love. I don't know, it really pisses me off that someone would do that. I don't know, I couldn't ever imagine myself ever cheating on Chrissy, there's no reason to. I guess some people probably force love on each other because they enjoy being with each other so much, even if the feeling isn't there. I don't get it. |
